Our Story
format Pilates started with two different Pilates journeys—and one shared vision.
Bridget fell in love with the Reformer, eventually opening her own private Pilates studio where she specialized in one-on-one instruction. Danielle discovered Pilates through mat classes before expanding into Reformer and quickly found a passion for teaching energetic group classes throughout the South Bay.
The two first connected when Bridget took one of Danielle’s classes. What started as a shared love for Pilates quickly grew into a friendship, countless conversations, and one big idea.
As they taught together, they realized they each brought something unique to the table. Danielle inspired Bridget to embrace the energy, motivation, and connection that comes from group fitness. At the same time, Bridget introduced Danielle to the intentional coaching and attention to detail that make private sessions so impactful. Rather than choosing one approach over the other, they decided to create a studio that blends the best of both.
That’s how format was born.

Why format

format was designed to combine the personalized feel of private training with the motivating energy of group fitness. Every class is intentionally programmed to deliver a challenging, full-body workout while remaining approachable and adaptable for every fitness level. Inspired by Bridget’s love for the Reformer and Danielle’s passion for mat Pilates, format offers both modalities—along with signature Matformer classes that bring them together—creating workouts that are dynamic, effective, and anything but ordinary.
Danielle and Bridget believe the best workouts don’t just leave you stronger—they leave you feeling empowered. Their classes combine purposeful programming, motivating playlists, intentional coaching, and just the right amount of challenge to deliver a full-body burn that keeps clients coming back for more.
As founders and instructors, they’re committed to continually learning, growing, and evolving so every class feels fresh, effective, and engaging. Their vision was never to create just another Pilates studio—it was to build a place where people look forward to showing up, challenge themselves, celebrate their progress, and feel part of something bigger.
More than a workout, format is a place to move with confidence, push your limits, connect with others, and discover what you’re capable of.
