This Refund Policy explains how Format Pilates handles refunds, credits, cancellations, expirations, recurring memberships, and billing errors. By purchasing a class, package, private session, membership, event, or other service, you agree to this policy, the Terms & Conditions, and any additional terms displayed at checkout or in your signed agreement.

Nothing in this policy limits any cancellation, refund, or other right that cannot be waived under applicable law, including the California Health Studio Services Contract Law.

1. General Policy

Except as stated below, in a signed agreement, or as required by law, all purchases are final, nonrefundable, nontransferable, and not redeemable for cash. We do not issue refunds or credits solely because of nonuse, scheduling preferences, travel, vacation, personal circumstances, or a change of mind after an applicable statutory cancellation period has ended.

2. Statutory Right to Cancel a California Health-Studio Contract

If your purchase is a contract for health-studio services under California law, you may have a statutory right to cancel, including a right to cancel before midnight of the fifth business day of the health studio after the agreement date, excluding Sundays and holidays. Longer cancellation periods may apply to certain higher-value contracts.

The signed health-studio contract-not this web page-must contain the complete statutory notice next to the signature area and the studio's mailing address and email address for cancellation. A valid notice may be sent as provided in that agreement and applicable law. When a timely statutory cancellation is received, payments will be refunded within the legally required period, less the prorated value of services already received where permitted by law.

California law may also provide cancellation and prorated-refund rights if the buyer dies, develops a qualifying disability verified as required by law, moves more than 25 miles from the studio and cannot transfer to a comparable facility, the studio does not timely open or provide promised facilities, or covered facilities are eliminated or substantially reduced. Eligibility, documentation, permitted fees, and refund calculations are governed by the statute and signed agreement.

3. Group Classes and Class Packs

A reservation canceled at least 6 hours before class begins will be treated as an on-time cancellation. When allowed by the purchase terms, the class credit will be returned to the client's account; no cash refund is issued.
A late cancellation made within 6 hours of class or a no-show will result in forfeiture of the class credit.
An unlimited-membership client may be charged a late-cancellation or no-show fee of $15 for late cancellation and $20 for no-show instead of losing a class credit.
The 5-Class Pack expires 60 days after purchase. Unused or expired credits are not refundable and will not be extended except as required by law or expressly approved by Format Pilates in writing.

4. Private Pilates Sessions

Private Pilates may be purchased as a single session or in a 4-, 8-, or 12-session package. Private-session packages expire 60 days after purchase.

A private session canceled at least 6 hours before its scheduled start may be rescheduled and the session credit retained.
A late cancellation or no-show will result in forfeiture of the session unless Format Pilates approves an exception or applicable law requires otherwise.
The submission of a private-session inquiry does not create an appointment. A session is booked only after Format Pilates confirms the date, time, availability, and applicable payment.

5. Recurring Memberships

Recurring memberships renew automatically at the price and frequency disclosed at enrollment until canceled.

You may cancel through Momence or by emailing hello@formatpilatessb.com. Cancellation will be available through the same medium used to enroll or another easy-to-use method as required by law.
Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless required by law, it does not create a refund for a billing period that has already begun.
To avoid the next renewal charge, complete cancellation before the next scheduled billing date.
Membership benefits ordinarily remain available through the end of the paid billing period, unless access is terminated for safety, fraud, unlawful behavior, or serious policy violations.
Unused monthly class credits expire at the end of the applicable billing cycle and do not roll over unless the purchase description expressly says otherwise.
Cancellation of a Founding Unlimited Membership may permanently end access to the founding rate. Any such consequence must be disclosed in the membership agreement before purchase.

Canceling a class reservation, removing a payment card, deleting an app, or failing to attend is not a membership cancellation.

6. Membership Freezes

Standard Freeze Policy: A membership may be frozen for a maximum period of times for 2 months by submitting a request at least 7 days before the requested freeze date. A fee of $15 per month applies. Freezes may be limited to 1 per year. Medical or other legally protected circumstances will be handled consistent with applicable law.

7. Studio Cancellations and Service Interruptions

If Format Pilates cancels a group class, the class credit will be returned to the client's account. If Format Pilates cancels a private session, the session may be rescheduled or the affected credit restored.

Instructor substitutions, reasonable schedule changes, temporary equipment unavailability, and reasonable changes to class types or quantities do not automatically create a refund. If Format Pilates permanently eliminates or substantially reduces covered facilities or cannot provide purchased services, refunds or cancellation rights will be provided as required by law and the applicable agreement.

For closures or interruptions caused by emergencies, natural disasters, government orders, utility failures, unsafe conditions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, Format Pilates may provide credits, extensions, rescheduling, or refunds based on the circumstances and applicable law.

8. Workshops, Events, Retail Items, and Promotions

Workshops, special events, promotional offers, and retail purchases may have separate refund or cancellation terms displayed before purchase. If no separate terms are shown, this Refund Policy applies. Used retail items are nonreturnable except if defective or otherwise required by law. Unused retail items may be returned only under the return terms displayed at purchase.

9. Billing Errors, Duplicate Charges, and Approved Refunds

Contact us promptly if you believe you were charged incorrectly. Confirmed duplicate charges, overpayments, or billing errors will be corrected. Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method. Processing time varies by payment provider and financial institution.

Refund requests should include the purchaser's name, account email, purchase date, service purchased, and reason for the request. Do not send full payment-card information by email.

10. Chargebacks

Please contact Format Pilates first so we can investigate and attempt to resolve a billing concern. Filing a chargeback does not cancel a recurring membership. Format Pilates may suspend an account while a chargeback is investigated and may provide transaction records to the payment processor, subject to applicable law.
